About the show
Sienna Miller and Jack O’Connell star in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof at the Apollo Theatre.
Tennessee Williams’s 20th century masterpiece Cat On A Hot Tin Roof won the 1955 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama. In Mississippi, on a cotton plantation, it’s Big Daddy’s birthday, yet the atmosphere is anything but light. The tensions between Brick and his wife Maggie ‘the cat’ mix with the claustrophobic Southern heat. The family are at breaking point, with years of lying threatening to implode at any moment.
Sienna Miller and Jack O’Connell take the roles of Maggie and Brick in this highly anticipated show. It is a Young Vic production co-presented in the West End by the Young Vic and The Young Ones.
Acclaimed actress Miller starred in films including Layer Cake and American Sniper. She also appeared on stage in As You Like It at Wyndham’s Theatre and Flare Path at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
Rising star O’Connell joins her in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. He began his acting career playing James Cook in the E4 teen series Skins. His other credits include the 2014 film Unbroken, directed by Angelina Jolie, and also stage performances at the National Theatre, Royal Court and Sheffield Crucible.
Colm Meaney joins Miller and O’Connell to play Big Daddy. The star of films including Die Hard 2 and Dick Tracy, he was last on the London stage in Moon For The Misbegotten at the Old Vic.
Benedict Andrews directs Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. He previously directed Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire for the Young Vic. X-Files star Gillian Anderson led the cast of that production.
This is a classic of modern theatre starring a pair of fantastic actors. Because of that it has the potential to be a one of 2017’s biggest hit shows.
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof runs at the Apollo Theatre for a limited 12-week run from 13 July – 7 October 2017.
