About the show

Catch the West End premiere of the Tony Award-winning political thriller Oslo.

J. T. Rogers’s hit Broadway play transfers to the West End for a season at the Harold Pinter Theatre. The acclaimed thriller made a splash when it premiered at the Lincoln Centre in New York in 2015. It transferred to Broadway the following year.

Oslo exposes a world of behind-the-scenes negotiations leading up to the historic 1993 Oslo Accords, a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organisation.

Oslo follows two Norwegian diplomats and their groundbreaking work enabling Israeli and Palestinian leaders to begin negotiations. Their efforts and the agreement it led to is memorialised in an historic handshake on the White House lawn between Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin.

Toby Stephens and Lydia Leonard play the primary facilitators of the Oslo talks, Terje Rød-Larsen and Mona Juul .

Star of stage and screen, Stephens previously appeared at the National Theatre in Danton’s Death. The former Bond baddie is a regular at the Royal Shakespeare Company, where his credits include Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Coriolanus.

Leonard caught the eye of many critics in the stage adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies. She last appeared at the National Theatre in Time And The Conways.

Peter Polycarpou, Geraldine Alexander, Philip Arditti, Thomas Arnold, Nabil Elouahabi, Paul Herzberg, Karoline Gable, Anthony Shuster, Daniel Stewart and also Howard Ward complete the cast.

Bartlett Sher directs the play, which was created after he became friends with the real-life diplomats in America. His previous London credits include the musical adaptation of Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown.

Before arriving at the Harold Pinter Theatre, Oslo is performed for a strictly limited season at the National Theatre. The show runs at the Southbank venue from 5 – 23 September 2017.

Oslo runs from 2 October – 30 December 2017 at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
