About the show
The creators of Fleabag bring new play Touch to the Soho Theatre.
Soho Theatre and DryWrite reunite to bring the premiere of Touch by Vicky Jones to the stage. The company and theatre previously worked together on the huge cult hit Fleabag by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Co-Artistic Director of DryWrite). They also collaborated on The One, Jones’s Verity Bargate Award-winning play.
If you liked either of those two works, then Touch certainly appears to offer more on the same themes.
Dee is a 33-year-old Welsh woman living in a shoe box London flat and working a stop-gap job. Her sex life is as volatile and impermanent as the rest of her life. Moving to the city provides Dee with the opportunity to change, to become a new person. But the problem is this: how do you become someone else when you don’t know what that ‘someone else’ looks like?
Amy Morgan stars in Touch. She previously appeared in the TV series Mr Selfridge. Morgan also performed on stage in The Beaux’ Stratagem, Hay Fever and Travesties.
The Daily Telegraph says The One “shows you things on stage with a temerity that puts you in mind of someone skipping through a minefield as if looking for daisies.”
Expect witty dialogue, unapologetic frank comments on sex and a no-holds-barred insight into the mind of a single woman in modern London. If Fleabag and The One are anything to go by, Touch has the potential to become a big hit, especially with the younger theatre-going crowd. We advise booking early.
Touch runs at the Soho Theatre from 6 July – 26 August 2017.
