What you need to know about Bush Theatre:
Bush Theatre is a highly regarded fringe theatre in Shepherd’s Bush specialising in new writing. The popular venue opened in 1972 and has since established itself as one of the top producing houses for supporting and nurturing new talent. Their programme is an exciting mixture of new drama from Britain and abroad, combining the work of established playwrights with those at the very start of their careers. Come here to see an innovative, diverse and politically engaged selection of plays.
Bush Theatre has two performance spaces: a 180-seat theatre and a 70-seat studio.

- In 2017, Bush Theatre reopened following a £4.3 million redevelopment project. The work improved the venue’s accessibility. It also added a new studio space, rehearsal room, entrance, front-of-house area and exterior garden terrace.
- Bush Theatre is housed in a building that was previously Passmore Edwards Public Library.
- Before relocating to the library, the theatre started out above The Bush pub on the corner of Goldhawk Road and Shepherd’s Bush Green.

Tube: The closest tube station is Shepherd’s Bush Market (Circle and Hammersmith & City lines), which is less than a five minute walk from the venue. Alternately, use Shepherd’s Bush (Central line).
Train: Shepherd’s Bush train station is served by Overground and Southern train services. It is a short 5-10 minute walk from the venue.
Bus: Bus numbers 207, 260, 283, 607 and also N207 stop at Shepherd’s Bush Market; bus numbers 72, 94, 95, 148, 220, 237, 272, 283 and 295 stop at Shepherd’s Bush Green, while bus numbers 31, 49, 94, 148, 207, 228, 237, 260, 295, 316, 607, C1, N207 stop at Shepherd’s Bush Station.
The nearest major car park is at Westfield London. Bush Theatre is outside the congestion charge zone. On-street parking is also available in the area surrounding the theatre.
Bush Theatre’s redevelopment and reopening in March 2017 has meant major improvements in accessibility for the theatre. All areas of theatre (including the café bar) and both auditorium spaces are wheelchair accessible.
You can find accessible toilets on the ground floor.
Working dogs are welcome in all areas of the theatre. You can either arrange for them to accompany you into the auditorium (and book an aisle seat) or a friendly member of staff will dog-sit.
The theatre is fitted with a hearing system. Headsets to use with this can be borrowed from the box office.

Bush Theatre is home to the Library Bar. During the day the outlet sells coffees, pastries and other small snacks. In the evening it morphs into an attractive bar serving British beers, cocktails and a selection of wines. Visitors to the Library Bar can enjoy the cosy indoor space (perhaps also taking advantage of the playtexts in the library) or head outdoors to the terrace area to enjoy the sun and watch the world go by.
