About the show
Spend Christmas with The Gruffalo’s Child at London’s Lyric Theatre.
Tall Stories’ inventive and much-loved adaptation of The Gruffalo’s Child comes to the Lyric Theatre for Christmas 2017. Based on the hugely popular children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, this family musical is the perfect addition to the holiday season.
One night, the Gruffalo’s Child sneaks out of the house and into the deep dark wood. No matter what her dad says, this little Gruffalo wants to find an adventure. The snow is falling and she meets many marvellous creatures in the wood. But are all of them friendly? Most importantly, does the Big Bad Mouse really exist?
This is a heart-warming and hugely enjoyable story about exploring the world – even when you don’t know what’s out there.
The Gruffalo’s Child is directed by Olivia Jacobs. Cast members include Andrew Mudie as the Gruffalo, Sophie Alice as the Gruffalo’s Child, and Catriona Mackenzie as the Mouse.
Tall Stories premiered The Gruffalo’s Child in 2005 at London’s Polka Theatre. They have since taken the show around the globe. They’ve performed in Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Australia and also America. The company are also behind the stage adaptation of The Gruffalo.
Time Out says this show is “fun, daft and a little scary!” But we promise this is no-nightmares territory. There’s plenty of sing-along songs and a happy ending to make this suitable for all children aged 3 and up.
The Gruffalo’s Child runs at the Lyric Theatre from 22 November 2017 – 7 January 2018. While The Gruffalo’s Child is performed during the day at the Lyric Theatre, Thriller Live continues its usual performance schedule.
