About the show
Cut loose with the ultimate 80s musical Footloose at London’s Peacock Theatre.
Gareth Gates and Maureen Nolan star in the fun-filled 80s musical Footloose as it arrives in the West End for a strictly limited season. Filled with classic 80s hits, the musical runs at the Peacock Theatre from 12 – 30 September 2017.
Based on the cult film of the same name, Footloose tells the story of Ren McCormack. He’s a handsome city boy who is banished to an American backwater called Bomont. Ren thinks life in the sticks is bad enough, but it turns out he doesn’t know the half of it. Not only is life a little dull, but dancing and rock music are flat out banned. That is, until Ren has something to say about it.
Joshua Dowen, who previously starred in Dogfight at Southwark Playhouse, plays Ren. Hannah Price plays Ariel, a role she previously played during the 2016 tour. Reuven Gershon, who formerly played John Lennon in Beatles musical Let It Be, plays dance-hating Reverend Shaw. Pop star Gates plays Willard, whilst Nolan performs as Vi Moore.
Audiences can enjoy a host of 80s pop hits, including Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear It For The Boy and, of course, Footloose.
This remastered version of the musical dances into the Peacock Theatre for the final stop on a UK tour that began at the New Wimbledon Theatre in April.
Footloose is produced by Selladoor productions, the team behind Avenue Q, American Idiot and Little Shop Of Horrors.
Footloose runs at the Peacock Theatre from 12 – 30 September 2017.
