About the show
Friendships are stretched in workplace comedy Dolphins And Sharks at Finborough Theatre.
London’s Finborough Theatre presents the European premiere of Dolphins And Sharks by James Anthony Tyler. Set in an average American office, this perceptive and entertaining comedy looks at what happens when your co-worker becomes your boss.
Dolphins And Sharks follows the lives of three employees. Yusuf is a NYU graduate with a degree in Philosophy and unpaid rent to address. Xiomara is desperate to avoid the marriage her Dominican mother wants her to make. And Isobel is sticking with the job for as long as it takes her to put her kids through school.
All three work at the Harlem Office, a neighbourhood copy shop. Each day rolls by pretty much the same as all the others. Racism, jealousy and boredom frequently mark their time at work. Then, one of the staff is given a promotion. When more cash is suddenly available, what worth is given to friendship?
