About the show

Discover a country in the grip of environmental disaster in dystopian thriller, Foxfinder. Iwan Rheon stars in Dawn King’s much-praised play at the Ambassadors Theatre.

Imagine England at breaking point. Food is hard to come by and many farms are under water. Foxes have earned the blame for much of the food scarcity. People are employed to hunt them down.

Foxfinder, William Bloor, arrives at the Covey’s farm. The family haven’t produced enough food and important people want to know why. William already knows why… His whole life has been dedicated to hunting foxes. But his investigation delivers more questions than answers.

Iwan Rheon leads the cast as William Bloor. He made his West End debut in Spring Awakening, winning an Olivier Award for his performance in 2010. Since then, he has become a major television star, appearing in shows including E4 drama Misfits and playing Ramsay Bolton in HBO’s global success, Game Of Thrones. He also starred in sitcom Vicious opposite Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi.

Poldark star Heida Reed joins Rheon in Foxfinder. In addition to the hit BBC series, in which Reed plays Elizabeth Warleggen, Reed has previously starred in London stage productions of Scarlet and Top Girls.

Former Call The Midwife star Bryony Hannah and Ackley Bridge actor Paul Nicholls complete the cast of Foxfinder.

Dawn King’s Foxfinder premiered at Finborough Theatre in 2011. It earned both acclaim and awards, including the Papatango New Writing Prize. King’s other plays include Ciphers and also an adaptation of Brave New World.

Rachel O’Riordan directs Foxfinder. The artistic director of Cardiff’s Sherman Theatre, she previously directed shows including the award-winning Iphigenia In Splott and Killology.

Gary McCann designs the production, while Paul Anderson provides lighting design.

Foxfinder plays at the Ambassadors Theatre from 6 September to 5 January.
