About the show

Jack London’s epic White Fang comes to Park Theatre this December.

As the final part of the autumn/winter season 2017, Park Theatre in north London presents Jethro Compton’s stage adaptation of White Fang. Based on the famous novel by Jack London, it is an epic tale of destruction, death, love and redemption.

Set in 1898 in Canada, White Fang centres on the plight of a young indigenous girl. After her tribe is massacred, she is rescued by an elderly huntsman. The slaughtering of her fellow tribesmen leaves her adrift from centuries of tradition and knowledge.

Slowly, she becomes friends with an abandoned wolf. Over time she learns the skills needed to get by in the wild along with the long-held customs of her ancestors. But despite her newly-acquired knowledge, will she really be able to survive when the time calls for it?

London’s White Fang was first published as a book in 1906. It takes its title from the wolf that plays such a significant part in the story. The book is closely linked to London’s other famous work, The Call Of The Wild. In 1991, White Fang was released as a film starring Ethan Hawke.

Adaptor Compton also directs the production. It is created by the same team behind the Park Theatre’s successful show The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. Their other work includes The Bunker Trilogy.

Suitable for ages 12 and over.

White Fang runs from 13 December 2017 – 13 January 2018 at Park Theatre.
