About the show

Get ready for the West End debut of smash-hit Broadway musical Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre, featuring songs from Grammy Award-nominee Sara Bareilles.

Wishing for a way out of her loveless marriage, small town waitress and expert piemaker Jenna heads to a nearby county to take part in a baking contest.

While there, she makes friends with her fellow waitresses and meets the town’s new doctor, who all play a part in helping Jenna find the courage to rebuild her life in this story of motherhood, friendship and delicious pies.

An all-female led creative team head up this award-winning musical, which was nominated for a variety of prestigious awards, including a Tony Award for Best Musical, following its opening on Broadway.

Sara Bareilles created the music and lyrics for Waitress. Following her debut in Little Voice in 2007, Sara has achieved outstanding success in her career and a variety of nominations for her work on the musical, including a Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.

Waitress author, Jessie Nelson is also known for writing, directing and producing I am Sam with Sean Penn and Corinna, Corinna with Whoopi Goldberg. She is currently writing the sequel to Disney’s Enchanted.

Director of Waitress, Tony Award-winning Diane Paulus is one of the brightest stars in US theatre and has worked on Broadway shows such as Pippin, Finding Neverland and Prometheus Bound. She was also previously named one of the most influential people in the world by TIME magazine.

Choreography is provided by Lorin Latarro, whose credits include Broadway’s Les Liaisons Dangereuses and Waiting for Godot starring Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, prior to working on Waitress.

Waitress runs from 8 February to 25 May 2019 at the Adelphi Theatre.
